The conflict in the Middle East has escalated further over the past week, with damage to energy infrastructure in the region now the key concern. Comments from QatarEnergy’s CEO that LNG export capacity has been reduced by 17% for 3-5 years points to large scale damage to both Qatar’s own economy – GDP will probably fall sharply this year, by at least 13% – and global gas supplies.
