Emerging Markets Roundtable: How much has the energy shock changed the EM outlook?

Capital Economics, 100 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 5JL

Speakers:

The energy shock accompanying renewed conflict in the Middle East has had an outsized impact on emerging markets. With a ceasefire holding but supply constraints still in place, the key questions are when and how far growth, inflation and financial markets will normalise, and which economies stand to gain most or will be most adversely affected.

Our EM economists will explore these questions and more in a special roundtable at our London office on Wednesday 13 May. This is your chance to hear our latest thinking on the outlook through this year and into 2027, ask questions and exchange views with industry peers.

In this one-hour session, the team will explore critical themes shaping emerging markets, including:

  • How the energy shock is shaping the outlook for EM growth and financial markets;
  • The implications for the Gulf economies, diversification and overseas investments;
  • Whether surging demand for China’s green tech will lift its economy.

We are hosting two sessions at 09:00am and 12:00pm. You can register for your preferred session via the below form.
