- Foreign investors have generally been piling into Japan’s stock market in recent months, presumably encouraged by, among other things, the country’s recent trade deal with the US, the continued weakness of the yen, an improving economy, a brighter future for financials amid higher bond yields, and still-attractive valuations. What’s more, a fairly tech-heavy composition has seen Japan’s stock market benefit from renewed enthusiasm for AI. Our view is that it still looks appealing, although we doubt it will outperform the even tech-heavier US stock market on a sustained basis before the end of next year.
