The conventional wisdom is that President Trump has pushed well beyond the established bounds on executive power in his second term. In a number of areas, including tariffs, deportations, the use of the military domestically and his crackdown on universities, however, the Federal courts are increasingly pushing back. It remains to be seen which way the Supreme Court will rule on these issues (and whether the Trump administration is even willing to abide by court rulings) but, for now at least, the checks and balances appear to be holding.
