The decision by the National Bank of Romania to leave its policy rate on hold again today, at 6.50%, was widely expected by analysts, and we think that high inflation will continue to prevent interest rate cuts until the second half of this year. We expect the policy to end-2026 at 5.75%, which is a slightly more hawkish view than the consensus.
