NBP steps up its fight against inflation

The National Bank of Poland (NBP) unexpectedly delivered its largest interest rate hike in 22 years today (100bp, to 4.50%) to get on top of the deteriorating inflation outlook and we think there’s little argument against further hikes to come. We now expect rates to reach 6.75% this year (previously 5.75%).
