The bigger-than-expected rebound in the Nationwide measure of house prices in July shows that the recovery in the housing market after the stamp duty-induced lull is underway. While the weak labour market will probably prevent the recovery from continuing at this pace, today’s data release suggests the risks to our Q4 2025 house price growth forecast of 2.0% are tilted to the upside.
