UK GDP (Apr. 2025)

The fall in GDP in April supports our view that the strength of the economy in Q1 was a red herring and that GDP growth will be more subdued during the rest of the year. This won’t prompt the Bank of England to cut interest rates next Thursday, but it is one more piece of news pointing to another cut in August.
