MNB kicks off its monetary easing cycle

Hungary’s central bank (MNB) cut the interest rate on its one-day deposit tender at today’s meeting, from 18% to 17%, and this is likely to be followed by further cuts in the coming months, with the central bank’s key policy rates returning to single digits by early next year.
