Market implications of China’s monetary loosening

We expect government bonds in China to continue to perform well against a backdrop of looser monetary policy, but suspect its currency won’t depreciate as much against the greenback as we had previously envisaged. Meanwhile, we have mixed feelings about China’s stock market which, despite a post-“Liberation Day” setback, has still been one of the better performers globally on net since Donald Trump returned to the White House.
