Rest of the world catches up with Australia

2018 may be the year that the Australian economy fails to grow at a much faster pace than the majority of its peers and its interest rate premium is wiped out. This may mean that 10-year bond yields in Australia end the year no higher than in the US and that the Australian dollar weakens to about US$0.70.
