European equities: no AI, no party?

Since bottoming out late last year, European and US equities have fared comparably in local-currency terms, and European stocks have even outperformed in dollar terms. Looking ahead, however, we think that the lack of AI (or indeed tech) “champions” in Europe will hold back European equities relative to their US peers, similar to what happened during the formation of the “dot-com bubble”.
