Weak mandate for Ramaphosa, Another term for Emefiele

The comparatively poor showing by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa’s ANC in Wednesday's election will probably weaken the reformist leader in his on-going struggle with intra-party rivals. Elsewhere, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to nominate CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele for a rare second term strengthens our view that Nigeria’s growth-sapping policy framework will remain unchanged over the coming years.
