Buoyant domestic demand to support regional growth

Buoyant domestic demand should ensure that sub-Saharan Africa remains one of the world’s best performing regions over the next two years, even if the global economy remains weak. We are particularly upbeat on the prospects for Nigeria and Ghana, as well as most of east Africa. The irony is that while the outlook for the region as a whole is improving, its largest economy, South Africa, looks set to be a major underperformer.
