Mortgage rates will continue to rise

Mortgage rates have been slow to respond to rising market interest rates, with lenders choosing to take a hit to their margins rather than fully offset increased funding costs. But we don’t think there is any more scope for rises in Bank Rate to be absorbed in lenders margins, so we expect a sharp rise in mortgage rates over the next 12 months.
