The drop in Brazilian inflation to 4.5% y/y in November won’t prompt an interest rate cut at the central bank’s meeting later today (we expect the Selic rate to stay at 15.00%). But it does suggest that, despite recent hawkish noises from policymakers, an interest rate cut in January is still in play.
