Who’s afraid of a strong dollar?

The Mexican peso and the Turkish lira have come under further pressure over the past couple of days, but the more striking thing is how resilient other EM currencies have been in the face of a globally strong dollar. This reflects the fact that Mexico and Turkey suffer from specific (but very different) vulnerabilities, but that in most other EMs external vulnerabilities have diminished in recent years.
