While today’s BoJ meeting was fairly uneventful, with no big impact on Japanese financial markets besides some significant volatility in the yen during Governor Ueda’s press conference, that may not remain the case in the run-up to and after next month’s election. A related question is what, if anything, will the BoJ do if there is another large sell-off in JGBs after the rout earlier this week?
