RBA not off the hook yet

The further fall in the unemployment rate in December should convince the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) to keep rates unchanged at the meeting on 4th February. But the Bank will probably downgrade its GDP growth forecast and will signal that inflation is set to remain below target for the foreseeable future. As such, we still expect rates to fall to 0.25% over the coming months.
