Taiwan’s boom becoming less lop-sided

Taiwan’s economy has boomed over the past couple of years on the back of strong AI-related exports, whereas household consumption has struggled. But there are signs that the economy is becoming less lop-sided, with strong wage growth and state cash handouts lifting consumer spending. That supports our view that, so long as the Iran war ends soon, GDP growth will be stronger than most expect this year.
