The second consecutive decline in mortgage activity in November, as the previous decline in mortgage rates came to an end, supports our view that home sales are unlikely to rise by as much as most expect. With market participants gradually moving closer to our view that the Fed will deliver only two more rate cuts this cycle, the risks to mortgage rates now lie to the upside.
