Comments from Chair Powell and various other FOMC participants confirm the federal funds rate will be lowered again later this month in spite of the recent rebound in surveyed hiring intentions. We doubt concerns around the health of regional lenders will ignite calls for a larger 50bp move, given the Fed was undeterred in hiking rates during the more precipitous SVB banking crisis.
