Investor interest on the wane

A stronger US dollar on the back of renewed expectations that the Fed will hike rates by the end of the year weighed on the prices of most industrial and precious metals last month. The only metals bucking the trend in August were those with clearly deteriorating supply prospects – namely zinc, lead and tin. Meanwhile, metals largely shrugged off relatively strong PMI and industrial activity data out of China.
