Brazilian export growth looks set to rebound this year as the impact of last year’s drought on agricultural shipments fades. This should help to finally pull the economy out of recession. That being said, the substantial rally in the real over the past twelve months is starting to weigh on external competitiveness and, if it continues, risks choking off the recovery just as it’s getting going.
