Impact of US auto tariffs limited to a few countries

With the twists and turns in the US-China trade talks grabbing most of the headlines, the looming deadline for the decision on US auto tariffs as part of the Section 232 investigation has received less attention. While the exposure of most EMs’ auto sectors to the US is small, large tariffs would have serious implications for Korea, Slovakia and (to a lesser extent) Hungary.
