Holiday spending disappoints, vaccines pay dividends

In some respects, activities around the Lunar New Year holiday were closer to normal this year than last, but tourism spending was still depressed. We expect further monetary easing to be announced in the next few days. Meanwhile, China’s booster programme has accelerated rapidly. And Chinese consumer price inflation may have dropped below 1%.
