RBA may end QE by mid-year

The RBA today upgraded its labour market forecasts but noted that the recovery remained dependent on “significant fiscal and monetary support”. Indeed, the Bank extended its Bond Purchase Program by another $100bn and indicated that it won’t raise interest rates until 2024. Our more upbeat forecasts for GDP growth, the labour market and inflation suggest that purchases may be phased out by year-end.
