RBA to tighten policy as upside risks dominate

Data released this week have been a mixed bag, which means that the RBA's policy decision next week will once again come down to the wire. With job vacancies falling and household cash flows starting to come under stress, it is possible that the Bank leaves rates on hold. However, given that disinflation is stalling, wage growth is accelerating and housing wealth is piling up, we think the case for a 25bp rate hike is the stronger one.
