Consumption growth ‘deemed’ to be weak

The consensus is slowly edging closer to our forecast that GDP growth in 2019 will be just 1.5%. And high levels of household debt and a lack of fiscal stimulus mean that growth will probably remain subdued in 2020. That’s why we expect the RBA to cut rates to 0.5% by early next year.
