Industrials steal the show

Most metals prices have trended higher over the past month, on signs that the monetary and fiscal stimulus enacted earlier in the year in China is starting to feed through into stronger activity. Precious metals bucked the trend, weighed down by renewed US dollar strength. While the Fed kept rates unchanged in September, expectations remain that the Fed will resume hiking rates by the end of 2016.
