Shunto suggests wage growth is stagnating

This year’s spring wage negotiations resulted in pay hikes that aren’t any stronger than those agreed upon a year ago. That’s rather disappointing given how tight the labour market is. Meanwhile, Japan and the US seem to be edging closer to a narrow trade deal focused on lower US car and Japanese food tariffs.
