Australia set to benefit from soaring EV sales

While China is the key beneficiary of the recent surge in sales of electric vehicles in Australia and elsewhere, Australia will ultimately benefit from stronger demand for lithium as well. Meanwhile, the RBNZ opted against a pre-emptive rate hike at its meeting this week and we think that substantial spare capacity will force the Bank to start tightening policy later than the financial markets anticipate.
