Market conditions tighten as inventory falls

The number of existing homes for sale has fallen to a 15-year low, which is both constraining housing market activity and putting upward pressure on house prices. But as new households struggle to find an appropriate home to buy that should boost demand in the rental sector. And, given the positive outlook for housing demand, homebuilders will have the confidence to up production and shift their emphasis towards cheaper single-family homes.
