What to make of the inverted gilt yield curve

The inversion of the yield curve has stoked concerns about the possibility of an imminent recession, if the UK is not already in one. However, even though the downside risks to the economy have increased recently, unless there is a no deal Brexit we still think that the UK will avoid a recession.
