Little evidence of progress

While the Government is yet to be defeated on the European Union Withdrawal Bill, there was little sign of the negotiations approaching “sufficient progress” this week. Given only two weeks remain for the UK to reach a position the EU is content with, according to EU Council President Donald Tusk, it seems a climb-down in Government policy on the Northern Irish border and the financial settlement is needed for talks to move on.
