Strong growth won’t last, oil prices, Aramco’s finances

The raft of Q4 GDP data released this week showed that the region recorded its fastest growth in three years at the end of 2018. But a slowdown is now underway and is likely to intensify. Meanwhile, financial details of Saudi Arabia’s state oil company, Aramco, released this week have raised fresh hopes for a sale of a stake in the firm. Our sense, though, is that an IPO is still many years away, if it will take place at all.
