Weak yen will lift underlying inflation above 2%

With the yen approaching 150 against the dollar, we now expect underlying inflation to climb to 2.5% by early-2023 instead of our previous forecast of 2.0%. But as this will happen when the global economy is in recession, we don’t expect the Bank of Japan to respond with tighter policy.
