EM FX rally has run its course as tariffs add to downside risk

Despite some weakness on the back of the latest tariff threats, emerging market currencies have broadly appreciated against the US dollar this year, mostly due to greenback-specific headwinds. We think most EM currencies will give back some of those gains as the Fed remains on hold for longer than investors expect and the dollar rebounds across the board.
