Centrist presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed his proposals to overhaul the French labour market in last night’s head-to-head television debate with his rival Marine Le Pen. While his plans will meet with strong resistance from unions and some of the public, the first polling for June’s National Assembly elections suggests that M. Macron will have the French parliament on his side.
