Economic prospects to maintain support for the euro

The euro’s recent appreciation against the US dollar appears to reflect better prospects for euro-zone growth and has occurred despite expectations that ECB monetary policy will remain very loose. Accordingly, while we still expect interest rates to rise faster than markets envisage in the US and more slowly in the euro-zone, we no longer see this causing a significant depreciation of the euro.
