Will global gas prices finally converge?

The surge in availability of liquefied natural gas (LNG), which does not need pipeline infrastructure, has raised the prospect of a more fungible natural gas market. In this Energy Watch, we look at the recent trends in the regional gas markets and discuss whether prices are likely to converge. In our view, a global natural gas benchmark is still some way off but prices may be more synchronised, at least.
