Russia entering an era of low inflation

The decline in Russian inflation has further to run and we think it will fall below the central bank’s target in the coming months. The central bank has adopted an extremely hawkish posture, but this is likely to change as inflation falls to target. Accordingly, we think the easing cycle will resume sooner and be larger than markets are pricing in both this year and next.
