The incursion of Russian drones into Polish airspace this week will, and at the very least, support Polish policymakers' efforts to continue raising defence spending. That said, the macro impact of this rise in spending will remain limited. Elsewhere, the Romanian government's fiscal tightening agenda has faced mounting challenges and there is a growing risk that a political backlash throws much-needed fiscal tightening off course.
