Peso plunges, Korea’s labour market woes continue

A widening trade deficit in the Philippines has put renewed downward pressure on the peso over the past week, creating a further headache for the central bank. Meanwhile, in Korea, the recent weakness of the labour market may prompt the president to reverse course on his plans for another aggressive rise in the minimum wage next year.
