Emerging Asia Chart Pack (Jan. 2024)

Economic growth in most of Emerging Asia is likely to slow in the near term as weak global demand and high interest rates weigh on prospects. With growth set to struggle and inflation likely to ease, interest rate cuts are likely to come on to the agenda soon. We think central banks will start to cut interest rates from around the second quarter of this year, which is earlier than when the consensus expects.
