Our Asia Chart Pack has been updated with the latest data and our analysis of recent developments.
We expect most Asian economies to record solid growth in 2026. Robust demand for AI-related products should continue to support exports and help offset the drag from US tariffs. The outlook for domestic demand is more mixed. Consumer spending is expected to expand steadily, underpinned by low inflation and recent policy rate cuts, although fiscal consolidation will weigh on growth in many economies. We expect further rate cuts in Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia, but in most countries easing cycles are approaching their end. We anticipate only one additional cut in India and expect policy rates to remain on hold in Taiwan, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
