Employment data swept up in pre-election hoopla

As the last major piece of economic news to be released before the Presidential election, October’s Employment Report will attract even more attention than normal, with both parties attempting to spin the data in their favour. Our econometric model points to an uninspiring rise in payroll employment of around 125,000 and a stable unemployment rate of 7.8%.
