Tunisians will vote for their new president on Sunday with Kais Saied, an independent, facing off against Nabil Karoui, a recently-incarcerated media mogul. Whoever the next president is will face the immediate challenge of working with a highly fractured parliament and a period of policy paralysis is a real risk. This would leave the country's large economic imbalances unchecked and raise the chances of a messy adjustment. Elsewhere, pressure is building on Egypt's government to loosen fiscal policy, which could reignite fears about the health of the public finances.
