There are growing signs that stretched affordability is weighing on homeownership, particularly for the under 35s. We expect this to persist in the coming quarters. But there is a large pool of young adults waiting to purchase their first home once affordability improves. This should revive the upward trend in homeownership towards the end of the year and support a recovery in sales in 2024.
