UK Finance Mortgage Lending (Aug.)

Mortgage approvals for house purchase edged down in August, leaving lending at the bottom end of the range that has been seen over the last few years. With interest rates rising and no sign of a recovery in buyer numbers, there is little reason to expect a recovery in lending activity soon.
